UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL
Topic: The Haitian Crisis: Addressing Social, Political and Economic Collapse
*Dual Delegate Committee*
Following the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, Haiti experienced a rise in political turmoil that led to outbreaks of chaos among the people. Not only was there a newly opened power vacuum that gave way to violent and armed gang conflicts for control, many Haitians fled out of urban areas due to understaffed police being unable to contain these bloody uprisings. Food supply chains have been severely disrupted by gangs, inflation has skyrocketed, unemployment rates are unsettlingly high, and most regular goods have become unaffordable. Delegates will need to work together to create a response that will restore stability to Haiti.
